It is not a shocker that celebrities like facebook and twitter as much as we do, however I find it a tad fake which is probably why I do not add my favourite singer or actor to facebook.
If you go and start a facebook account you have some choices you can start one as
1. Person (like most people)
2. Business
3. Celebrity
Now I don't know if everyone has seen what a celebrity facebook page looks like but I will tell you this it DOES NOT look like they actually post comments. It is a great idea for celebrities to get in touch with their fan base and let the fans communicate however this facebook page is doing the complete opposite they are providing nothing to their fans, some poor assistant has been assigned the job of updating the facebook/ twitter pages.
As a fan of the 'celebutons' I am disappointed that are celebrities today are "too good" to interact with their fans themselves. The tough part is even if they do monitor their own facebook page how are we suppose to believe it is them? Should we ask them personal questions, tell them they need to post a video of them on facebook, it is really hard to check how authentic their page actually is. Even if they are posting how does one trust the information that is being posted, celebrities get paid to endorse products (Kim Kardashian Slim Quick, Tiger Woods Nike, and every celebrity has their own perfume now)If Britney Spears says she loves Pepsi its the best drink ever, people will go buy and drink Pepsi. From a distance this message seems honest however after looking into it you realize that she is being paid to say how much she loves Pepsi. As a fan do you think this is fair, being manipulated by your favourite celebrity?
